President’s Message

BCRCCC Annual General Meeting Report – 2025

1. Welcome and Opening Remarks

The meeting was opened by the President Alex Doaga, who welcomed all attendees and provided an overview of the Chamber's achievements over the past year, emphasizing growth, visibility, and increasing member engagement.

2. Approval of Previous Minutes

The minutes from the 2024 AGM were reviewed and unanimously approved by the attending members.

3. Executive Director’s Report

Adrian Neagu presented a comprehensive update, including:

  • Successful participation in local and international events promoting Romanian-Canadian business relations.

  • Strategic partnerships developed with other chambers and trade associations.

  • Launch of initiatives such as “Taste of Romania” and planning of the 2026 Trade Mission to Romania.

  • Increased social media and community outreach leading to higher visibility.

Adrian emphasized the Chamber’s focus on building prestige, expanding membership, and empowering business leaders through collaboration.

4. Financial Report

The Treasurer presented the Chamber’s 2024 financial statement, which showed a stable financial position, supported by membership dues, event sponsorships, and in-kind support. The report was approved by vote.

5. Election of the New Board of Directors

The following individuals were confirmed as the new Board of Directors for 2025–2026:

  • Adelina Suvagau – Vice President & Chair of Membership and Community Engagement

  • Dragos Stroie – Executive President

  • Alex Doaga – Executive Director & Secretary

  • Marcela Lamb – Director

6. Committee Highlights and Future Plans

It was proposed and agreed upon to establish and strengthen the following committees:

  • Business Development & Innovation

  • Membership & Community Engagement

  • Events & Networking

  • Strategic Partnerships

Future goals include:

  • Strengthening the Chamber’s value proposition for members.

  • Facilitating Romanian-Canadian trade opportunities.

  • Launching member-exclusive programs and educational workshops.

7. Open Floor and Member Feedback

Members expressed appreciation for the Chamber’s visibility and emphasized the need to continue building credibility and value for new and existing members. It was noted that the prestige of being part of BCRCCC is as important as financial benefits.

🌍 Trade Mission to Romania – 2026

We’re proud to lead a high-level trade mission to Romania in partnership with the Canadian Business Exchange Association and with support from the Romanian Consulate in Vancouver. This mission will showcase investment opportunities, forge business partnerships, and strengthen cultural and commercial ties between our two countries.
